Tomás Ignacio Polanco

SUMMARY PROFILE

Mr. Polanco has more than 40 years of experience and concentrates his practice in Civil, Corporate, Labour, Tax, Banking, and Finance matters. He also has solid knowledge of public and private law in Latin America, as well as extensive knowledge of government regulations in the region. He is an expert legal advisor on corporate and compliance matters, which can translate into the success of a company or business.

Mr. Polanco has extensive experience in which he has been in charge of directing judicial issues, preparing tax planning, creating labor policies, managing relations with unions, coordinating intellectual property issues (trademarks and patents), environmental issues, and leading relationships with regulatory public entities. In addition, he has participated in the financing and debt restructuring.

He holds a Doctorate Degree in Law from Universidad Central de Venezuela (dissertation pending), a Master (LL.M.) from Columbia Law School (1982), and a J.D. from Universidad Central de Venezuela (1980).

Before joining InterJuris Abogados, Mr. Polanco was a lawyer in a well-known law firm in Venezuela, a Legal Consultant for one of the largest Venezuelan banks, a Legal Vice President in Venezuela, and an External Legal Advisor for the Caribbean of a multinational building materials company. He currently also serves as President of a major trust company in Panama.
