Fernando Rios Morillo



Fernando Rios has more than 8 years of experience and concentrates his practice in Corporate, Tax, Regulatory and Life-Science matters.

Fernando has participated in extensive transactions related to the sale and acquisition of corporations with national and foreign capital, has detailed legal and financial planning strategies for the entry into the local market of important transnational companies, as well as designed and implemented corporate restructuring strategies, such as mergers, spin offs and joint ventures of important local and international companies. He has extensive experience in the presentation and negotiation of operations before the applicable regulatory bodies, as well as the design, preparation and implementation of said operations.

During his practice, he has advised clients in structuring their business operations in a tax-efficient way, generating significant financial savings within their operations.

He has advised high net worth individuals on estate transfer tax planning, donation tax planning, and intergenerational family asset transfer planning; composition of operations with trusts; as well as ante facto business succession planning and compound asset protection strategies (in the face of possible government and private actions).

He has also advised multiple clients during audits and tax procedures, as well as being the promoter of the defense of his clients before judicial instances in tax matters.

He holds a Master (LL.M.) in Financial Law (dissertation pending) from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and a J.D. from Universidad Monteávila (2013).

Before joining InterJuris Abogados, he was a Private Consultant where he gained substantial experience in public procurement matters and electric energy regulations. He also worked as a Lawyer in the Corporate and Tax department at a leading Venezuelan law firm.

Fernando is a former professor of Legal and Political Institutions at Universidad Monteávila and former professor of History of the Law at Universidad Católica Andrés Bello.
